The purpose of this meeting is to provide citizens, and Town boards, committees and departments an update on the study effort and an initial view of the TGSC’s analysis.

The Town Governament Study Committee was established by the selectmen in the spring of 2012 and charged with evaluating the effectiveness of the town’s organizational structures and management systems, and making a report of recommendations back to the selectmen.

Over the past several months, the committee  has met with representatives from all of the town’s boards, committees and departments as part of the study effort.  Additionally, in November the committee conducted a survey with the town’s residents to gain impressions and feedback on the quality of town provided services.

The Feb. 11 meeting will introduce the major themes and opportunities resulting from the data collected over the past several months and the committee's subsequent analysis.

It will also provide all attendees the opportunity to address the context of the data collected, recommend adjustments, or provide additional specific information.

The committee will make a formal presentation to the selectmen Feb. 19 meeting. Once that is accomplished, the committee will begin drafting its recommendations.

Those recommendations will be presented at a second informational meeting in late April and the final recommendations will be presented at the annual town meeting in June.
