Wrentham Looking to Replace Ambulance

Fire department wants to replace ambulance.

The Wrentham Fire Department will be looking to replace one of its ambulances, it was revealed at the Board of Selectmen meeting Tuesday.

Wrentham Fire Department Chief Jay McMorrow said the issue has been lingering for some time.

"We asked to replace Rescue 2 last year, and we were asked to put it off until this year," he said. "It needs to be replaced."

McMorrow said the department would be seeking around $250,000 for the new vehicle.

"The last one we bought was $227,000," he said. "Hopefully, we'll be able to give some money back."

McMorrow said the department had been doing its best to keep the vehicle on the road, but that maintenance had been expensive.

Selectman Joseph Botaish asked if equipment would be included. McMorrow said the department transfers most of the equipment from the old ambulances.

"When you strip the truck, it's amazing to see how much equipment is there," McMorrow said.

Botaish indicated his support of the purchase.
