Senator Timily Speaks Out on Garden Lane

The senator that represents nearby Walople and Foxborough has released a letter to Undersecretary Gorstein concerning the issue of displaying flags in common areas.

Senator James Timily spoke out on the Garden Lane flag controversy with a letter to the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development Undersecretary Aaron Gorstein yesterday.

Timilty, who represents nearby towns such as Foxborough and Walpole, called the order a disgrace to everything that the American Flag represents.

After Garden Lane residents received a notice earlier this week that US flags were not allowed to hang on the exteriors of their apartments, the order was quickly reversed on Thursday, July 12 after the Department of Housing and Community Development admitted that they made a mistake in the face of extreme opposition and criticism.
