Penn National Seeks Permission to Apply for Slots at Plainridge

Officials from Penn National are expected to seek approval to apply for a gaming license for Planville from the State Gaming Commission today, according to a report in the Boston Herald. Penn National secured the option to buy Plainridge Racecourse.

According the Sun Chronicle, the deal depends on Penn National gets the slot license for the Plainville site.

Tuesday night, Plainville selectmen approved the transferred of the host community agreement to Penn National from Plainridge. The town will vote in a special election Sept. 10.

Penn National spokesman Eric Schippers told the Boston Herald, his company didn't plan on making major changes to Plainridge's plan.
