Nomination Updates As Filing Deadline Looms

Monday is the last day to file nomination papers with the town clerk.

Several interesting races are taking shape as the deadline to file papers to run for town office nears.

Those wishing to run in the April 4 elections have until Feb. 14 to file nomination papers with the town clerk.

Selectman Bob Cohen's current, three-year seat is up for grabs, as he has decided not to run for re-election. Currently, Mary Dunn, Peter Marinelli and Michael Carroll have taken out papers to run for the seat.

Cohen has apparently decided to run for a seat on the King Philip School Committee. Also running for that position is its current occupant, Anna Eberwein-Tupper.

Ed Goddard and Lynn Desrochers are seeking to run for the town's Elementary School Committee.

Multiple people are seeking to join the Planning Board, with incumbent Glenn Pisani set to face off against Michael Maurides, Charles Woohams and John Fragola.

Two people have taken out papers to run for a three-year Board of Health seat: incumbent Marion Cafferky and Everett Skinner. Brian Kelly is set to run for the board's one-year seat.

Town Moderator Keith Billian is currently unopposed, as is Board of Assessors member Thomas DiPlacido and Fiske Library Trustee Nancy Howes.
