A top state official on Thursday apologized for a @Mass.gov tweet that claimed "sexual assault is always avoidable."

@Mass.gov is the Twitter handle for the state government website.

Boston.com reported the tweet outraged advocates for sexual assault victims.

The tweet was posted Wednesday night and deleted Thursday morning.

Geoffrey Kula, the state's digital marketing director, tweeted an apology: "I deeply regret the message sent last night regarding sexual assault and apologize to all sexual assault victims. We in no way meant to suggest that victims of sexual assault are to blame for the crimes committed against them."

Even if Governor Patrick allocated the one billion dollars to the DCF, that wouldn't have changed the fact that they "misplaced" the fax of the neglect report for one of those babies. I have asked to explain what exactly a wind turbine victim, which you call yourself, is exactly, but you still haven't. Care to elaborate? Or continue your extremist rant?

Arthur -- Looks like Mr Haggerty has pulled a "JoeyPig" and hijacked this thread for his own pet peeve! LOL!

"We in no way meant to suggest that victims of sexual assault are to blame for the crimes committed against them." .... What DID they mean to suggest? I just cannot fathom any message they wished to express that could have mistakenly come out that way.

I agree, Cori. There is only ONE WAY that tweet could have been interpreted.
