Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program Deadline Extended

Deadline pushed back to midnight Wednesday.

The deadline for a U.S. Housing and Urban Development program intended to help homeowners avoid foreclosure has been extended, according to a release from State Rep. Daniel Winslow's office.

The Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program, which offers zero-interest loans to homeowners who have suffered a substantial loss of income, was originally slated to have a July 22 deadline for applications. That deadline, according to the release, has been extended to midnight Wednesday.

According to the release, assistance is limited to 24 months and a maximum loan of $50,000.
