Congressional Candidates to Debate in Attleboro, Easton This Week

Patch will be represented on the panel providing questions for candidates Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs and David Steinhof in Attleboro Monday. On Tuesday, Republican and Democratic candidates will square off in forums at Stonehill College.

Two debates early this week will pit 4th Congressional District candidates against each other.

This will be the first election where Wrentham is apart of the 4th district. Prior to this year, the town was apart of the 3rd district represented by Jim McGovern.

On Monday night, GOP candidates will square off at Bristol Community College in Attleboro. Tuesday night, both parties will square off in seperate primary debates at Stonehill College.

Below is some info on the two nights of debates.

Monday Night:

Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs and David Steinhof will answer questions from a panel comprised of members of the local media at Bristol Community College in Attleboro from 7-8:30 p.m.

The event is sponsored by The South Coast GOP, which is made up of town/city committees from Seekonk, Taunton, Raynham and Rehoboth as well as the Republican Women of Bristol/Norfolk County.

Participants on the panel include Attleboro-Seekonk Patch, , WVBF Radio of Taunton and WSAR Radio of Fall River . Jack Lank, president of the United Regional Chamber of Commerce , will be the moderator.    

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited, so you should arrive early. The Attleboro campus is located on 11 Field Road. If you have any questions, contact McCaffrey at 508-824-9722.

Tuesday Night:

Democratic candidates Rachel Brown, Joe Kennedy, and Herb Robinson will answer questions from local media at between 6-7 p.m. The Democratic forum will be followed by a Republican forum with candidates Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs, and David Steinhof taking questions from the media between 8-9 p.m.

The event will be moderated by Lisa Strattan, Associate Publisher and Editor of The Herald News and The Taunton Daily Gazette. The forum’s panelists will be drawn from WCVB, Wicked Local, and WGBH Radio.

The debate is located at Alumni Hall at Stonehill College. Free Parking is available in Lot 7. Alumni Hall is handicap accessible.
