Wrentham Police Investigate Breaking and Entering, Find Illegal Cultivation of Marijuana

An investigation of a house break-in on Dedham Street led to Wrentham police allegedly finding marijuana growing operation.

Wrenthan Police are investigating the alleged illegal cultivation of marijuana at home on Dedham Street June 13. The renter was taken into custody by Wrentham officer Derick Cassidy.

Detective Sergeant James Barrett and Detective Barry McGrath are handling the case.

Responding to the apartment for a possible break-in, Sgt. Jeffrey Smith, officer Jon Colifores and Cassidy determined that downstair apartment had been victimized.

According to the Wrentham Police, they then went to the upstairs apartment to find the door had been kicked in and no one was home.Smelling the scent of fresh marijuana, the officers conducted a sweep of the home and allegedly found high tech green house inside the master bedroom, containing potted marijuana plants.

Barrett obtained a search warrant and seized evidence of unlawful cultivation of marijuana.
