Wrentham Police Hosting Female Self-Protection Training

Wrentham police department to hold three-day seminar on female awareness and self-protection.

The Wrentham Police Department will be hosting a three-day seminar at the end of the month to teach women self-defense strategies.

The seminar, offered to women over 18 in Norfolk, Wrentham and Plainville, will be held at the Wrentham Elementary School. The workshop will be held on April 23, April 30 and May 7 from 6pm to 9pm.

According to a department release, the program will adress college safety issues as well, helping young women make their college experience safer.

"Learn strategies and self-defense techniques in a relaxed, fun environment that will increase your awareness and allow you to be safer on the street, in your car and in your home," the release reads.

Police said there are only 50 spots available.
