The incident happened shortly before 11 p.m. Police are searching for a suspect.

Various media are reporting that one large dog was removed from the home by Animal Control so that police could do an investigation. A source familiar with the situation told Attleboro Patch it was two dogs—an American bulldog and a pit bull. They are at the Attleboro Animal Shelter.

The shift commander at the Attleboro police station told Patch at 10:30 a.m. that no new information was available. He said more information could be available in the afternoon.

Please tell me how the breed of dog is relative in anyway to this?

Tori, because many media personnel cannot help but find opportunity to show pit bull dogs in a negative light. Sad, wrong, but true.

Hi Tori and Muriel: The breeds of the dogs were mentioned because those were the breeds. If they were two Havanese, I would have mentioned that as well. In journalism, we are supposed to be as specific as we can. I did not think of this as an "opportunity to show pit bull dogs in a negative light."
