UPDATED: Vehicle Strikes School Bus Carrying Walsh Middle Students

A school bus and a motor vehicle were involved in a crash in downtown Framingham about 3 p.m.

UPDATED 5 p.m.

A spokesperson from Durham School Services, the company that operates the buses for Framingham Public Schools said at 2:52 p.m., a motor vehicle struck bus #37 at the intersection of Lawrence and Grant streets.

Students from Walsh Middle School were on the bus, said Blaine Krage, communications and public relations manager for Durham School Services.

No students were injured, said Krage. The bus driver was not injured either, said Krage.

The condition of the driver of the motor vehicle is unknown, at this time.

Bus #37 needed to be towed from the scene, as the rear tire was flattened and there was damage to the driver's side of the bus, said Krage.

Another bus was bought to the crash scene. Students were placed on the second bus and all students made it home safely, he added.

A Framingham school bus and a motor vehicle were involved in a crash between Clark and Lawrence streets on Grant Street in downtown Framingham just about 3 p.m.

Students were on the bus when the crash took place.

Framingham Police, Framingham Fire and ambulances were on the scene.

Details are limited at the moment. Patch will update when we learn more.

Editor's Note: After picking up my daughter at the charter school around the corner, I took the photos posted. But by the time I arrived the motor vehicle, which witnesses described as smashed, was towed away and students were already placed on another bus.

@Samantha - Not at the moment. Have calls into Durham School Bus Company, which runs the buses for Framingham Public Schools, and Framingham Police to see which school, anyone taken to the hospital and anyone cited.
