Plainville Police Record over 100K Vehicles Traveling in Town

Plainville can have a lot of traffic from week to week, a lot more than you might think.
Over the past few weeks, Plainville Police recorded over 100,000 vehicles traversing the town from just two vantage points.
From 25 Washington St. facing south, police recorded 97,881 vehicles during the same time period. Their average speed was 50 mph in a 55 mph zone. The busiest days were Saturdays with 13,942 vehicles recorded.
The Plainville Police recorded 3,026 vehicles on 12 Bow St. pointing north from July 27 to Aug. 7. Their average speed was 31 mph in a 30 mph zone. The heaviest traffic days were on Sundays, with 558 vehicles on average.
