Update: Horses in Overturn Trailer Taken to Tufts Medical Center

Massachusetts State Police responded to an overturned horse trailer on the Route 1 to 495 North onramp this morning.

Update 1:45 p.m. - According to Wrentham Animal Controller Chris Wider, both horses were taken to the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in Grafton for further treatment. Both horses had lacerations on their legs and hoofs.

Original Story - Massachusetts State Police from the Foxborough Braracks responded this morning around 11:00 a.m. to an overturned horse trailer on the on ramp from Route 1A to Route 495 northbound in Wrentham.

Both the ramp to Route 1A and the on ramp from 1A to 495 North have been closed.

Preliminary reports from the State Police say that there were two horses in the overturned trailer with no word yet on any injuries to any horses or people in the vehicle.

Animal control was also on the scene to assist with the two horses.

According to WBZ, the horses were able to walk after the crash.
