Driver Indicted in Dragging Death

Moses Acloque allegedly dragged a motel worker to her death.

A driver from Norwood accused of dragging a motel worker to his death has been indicted by a Norfolk County grand jury this week. His case moves to Dedham Superior Court.

The driver – Moses Acloque, 22 – was indicted on leaving the scene of an accident after causing death, reports The Sun Chronicle. His arraignment has not yet been scheduled.

On Nov. 18, Acloque allegedly struck 59-year-old motel worker Kanchanben Patel and her husband – Dahyabhai Patel – who were in the parking lot of the motel after a dispute about a payment. The husband sustained minor injuries, but the wife became lodged in the wheel well of Acloque's truck as he drove away and continued for three miles.

Acloque's lawyer contends that Acloque was unaware that she was trapped underneath his car until after he stopped.
