Arrests and Protective Custody in Wrentham Police Log Sept. 25 - 28

The following is an abridged version of the Wrentham police log. Information was provided by Wrentham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned does not indicate a conviction.

Sept. 20

Officers Cowley, Schwalbe and Halloway arrested two professional shoplifters at the Wrentham Mall Tory Burch Store. Merchandise recovered totalled over $5,000 plus another $1,000 in stolen merchandise from other stores in the region. The two suspects used foil lined bags in an attempt to defeat the electronic inventory control system. Sharp employees spotted the thieves in action and sharp police officers made the pinch. Arrested were Andrew P. Mason, 44, of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Zawadi Roach, 24, of Brooklyn, N.Y. The so called pros travel long distances to hit malls with high end merchandise that they sell it on the black market.

Sept. 25

At about 11:40 a.m., Officers O'Connell, Saulnier and Sergeant Detective Barrett responded to Arbor Inn on Rt. 1 for a disturbance. The male party creating the disturbance was located and became argumentative with the officers. Concluding he was under the influence of alcohol, officers placed him in protective custody.

Sept. 28

At midnight, Officers Lown and Ellis responded to Lake Pearl Luciano's for a disturbance. They arrived to encounter an unfriendly intoxicated male who proceeded to barrage the officers with verbal insults. The officers provided the man with sleeping quarters, compliments of the Wrentham Police Department. He fell promptly to sleep and was released when he sobered up.
