Letter to the Editor: Rep. Winslow Urges Residents to Attend NSTAR Public Hearing

A press release on a Framingham NSTAR public hearing from Rep. Daniel Winslow.

State Representative Dan Winslow (R-Norfolk) today announced that the State Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will conduct a public hearing for NSTAR customers on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 7pm at the Walsh Middle School, 301 Brook Street in Framingham to discuss NSTAR’s response and procedures for post-Hurricane Irene power outages.

"The DPU has the power to regulate utility companies that fail to conform to their emergency response plans, and to direct fines to offset costs to customers," said Rep. Winslow. "This meeting is an important and effective platform for town residents and officials to share their experiences with power outages as a result of Hurricane Irene and to demand that utilities be more responsive and better managed for future events."

Norfolk, Medfield, Millis and Walpole are served by NSTAR. Separate hearings are scheduled regarding National Grid. Persons unable to attend the Framingham meeting can attend other regional meetings scheduled by the DPU. See the DPU website for more information, or call (617) 305-3500.
