Obituary: Timothy Brooks, Call Firefighter, Police Dispatcher

Timothy Brooks, 59,  of Plainville, died in the Massachusetts General Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 29. 

Born in Norwood, on Nov. 10, 1953, the son of Leo P. and Mary L. (Shufelt) Brooks. He was raised in South Walpole and graduated from the Norfolk County Agricultural School in Walpole with the Class of 1971. 

Tim continued to live in South Walpole till he moved to Plainville, five years ago. A member of the South Walpole Call Fire Department for 15 years. Tim retired in 2011 as the 911 dispatcher for the Walpole Police Department, he had worked previously for the Norwood Police and the Norfolk Police.

He was a ham radio operator, he played the harmonica, he loved to target shoot and he enjoyed fishing. 

He was the beloved husband of Deborah (Commerford) Brooks, loving father of Jeannine M. Brooks of VA and Kara A. Brooks of Plainville, cherished grandfather of Amari Griffin and Lukas Brooks, devoted son of Mary L. (Shufelt) Brooks of Plainville and the late Leo P. Brooks, brother of Larry Brooks of Wrentham and Dennis Brooks of Foxboro.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christina Burial that will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church South Street (Route 1A) Wrentham on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 9 a.m. Visiting hours are Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. in James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common St., Walpole. Interment Terrace Hill Cemetery, South Walpole.
