Steven Edward Mather, 57, of Wrentham, passed away Sept. 12, 2013 at home surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Carol R. (Orlowski) Mather with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Joseph and Lois R. (Holmes) Mather, he resided in Franklin prior to moving to Wrentham 26 years ago.
Steven was a graduate of New Bedford High School Class of 1973 and Bristol Community College and worked as a manager at Cisco for over 20 years. Steven and Carol enjoyed their bowling league in their early years, but really enjoyed their vacations in St. Maarten and many cruises.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his brother Dennis R. Mather and his wife Susan of Pensacola, Fla.; his sister Janice A Calichman of Peabody; his two nephews Joseph "Joey" M. Santos of Wrentham, whom Steven raised as his own son and Kris Blackburn; his three nieces Tonya Torres, Heather Goodman and Stefanie Phillips; his sister-in-law Sheila Orlowski of Pawtucket, R.I. who has supported the family through everything; his father-in-law Francis Orlowski of Pinellas Park, Fla.; and his canine friend Katie with whom he shared hours of play and love.
His graveside service will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Street, New Bedford, just days after what would have been his 58th birthday. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
