Obituary: R. Gilbert Bergh

Mr. R. Gilbert Bergh founded Bergh Bros. Co. in Attleboro Falls and ran it with his brothers for many years.

(FROM NICKERSON FUNERAL HOME)

R. Gilbert Bergh of Chatham, formerly of Plainville, 94, passed away June 23, 2013, after a long and rewarding life.

A summer resident of Chatham since 1961, and a year-round resident since 1993, Gil and wife Clare (Ehrlich) Bergh also lived previously in North Attleboro,  and later Plainville. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, and loved Cape Cod for its ample opportunities to pursue both.

Gil's career as a gifted and accomplished tool maker, inventor, and manufacturer spanned over five decades, culminating in Bergh Bros. Co., Inc. of Attleboro Falls, which he founded and ran for many years with brothers George and Winston Bergh.

Gil was a loving father to, and is survived by son, Rob Bergh, and wife, Mary Beth Bergh of Chatham, daughter Clare Bergh of Brewster, and was a proud, loving and attentive grandfather to Rob and Mary Beth's two daughters Lindsey and Courtney, also of Chatham.

Funeral services will be held at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Rd. Chatham on Wednesday, June 26th at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Gil's name to Beacon Hospice, 68 Center St., Unit 19,
