Paul R. Mathurin, 67, of Plainville, passed away Oct. 6, 2013.
Born November 22, 1945 in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Armand and Charlotte (Boothby) Mathurin.
Paul grew up in Plainville and was a 1963 graduate of King Philip High School in Wrentham. He later earned an Associate Degree in business from Fisher College.
Paul lived in North Attleboro for 15 years before returning to Plainville over 25 years ago.
He worked as a foreman at New England Plastic Coated Products in Norton for 33 years before retiring in 2002.
He served the U.S. Navy from 1965 -1969 during the Vietnam War.
Paul was a former member of the Norton Lions Club. He was also a skilled craftsman and handyman who could fix almost anything from cars to homes. He helped build houses, did remodeling, masonry and carpentry.
He is survived by his former wife Karen (Slade) Fontaine of North Attleboro; his two sons Brad Mathurin of Plainville and Mark Mathurin and his wife Edina Kelemen of West Yarmouth; his sister Lois Mathurin of Plainville; and his four grandchildren Brad A. Mathurin, Alyssa Pond, Leila Mathurin and Sage Hagen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial visiting hours Monday, Oct. 14, 5 to 7 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.
A private burial with military honors will be held at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
