Obituary: Emily (Palmer) Kroeker, Consultant Dietitian for Wrentham State School

Emily (Palmer) Kroeker, 87, of Nashua, N.H., died Oct. 3, 2013.

She was born to Dorothy Larrabee and Dr. Harold J. Palmer Aug. 28, 1926 in Ithaca N.Y. She was married 49 years to the late Dr. Edwin J. Kroeker, a 30 year member of the medical staff at Lahey Clinic.

Emily graduated from Cornell University in 1947 and served as home demonstration agent, New York Extension Service in several New York counties. She received a master's degree from Framingham State College in 1977 and worked as consultant dietitian for the Wrentham State School and nursing homes in Massachusetts.

Emily and her family spent many summers in a simple cabin in Vermont. She was a member of The First Church Nashua, assisted in Church World Service projects and resided at The Huntington.

She is survived by her four children John (and wife Sally) of Rye, N.H., Anne and her husband Richard of Bellevue, Wash., Edwin of Hudson and Peter of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren James, Leigh, Marguerite, Caroline and Bonni; and her siblings Marilyn Corwith of Greenport, N.Y. and John Palmer of Charlestown, R.I. She was preceded in death by her siblings Harold Palmer Jr. and Helen Plass. 

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Nov. 9 at First Church of Nashua, 1 Concord St., Nashua, N.H.

Memorial contributions in Emily's memory may be made to the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, N.H. or the Scholarship Fund at The Huntington in Nashua, N.H.
