Obituary: Charles H. Cole Jr.

Wrentham resident Charles H. Cole Jr. recently passed away at the age of 83.

Charles H. Cole Jr, 83, Wrentham, died surrounded by his loving family on October 18, 2012 at the Ellis Nursing and Rehab in Norwood.  He was the beloved husband of Fay (Bolan) Cole.     

Born in Canton, on April 24, 1929, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Anna (Keefe) Cole Sr.  Charlie was a graduate of the Sharon High School, later receiving his BS and MS in Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston.  He served our Nation in the United States Navy as a Scuba Diver, attaining the rank of Lieutenant prior to Honorable Discharge.     

Mr. Cole was an Engineer for the Foxboro Company for forty-five years, having enjoyed a successful career there prior to retirement.  He had been Past President of the Company’s 25 Year Club.

Always involved and active, he spent fourteen years with the Wrentham Youth Baseball.  He had been an active parent, coach, Treasurer, Vice President, and President of the League, and was a past President of Wrentham Recreation Committee.  He also served the Community of the Wrentham Finance Committee, and the Wrentham Cable Advisory Committee.  He was Past President of the Attleboro Chapter of the American Cancer Society.  Active with his Community at Pond Meadow, he had served on the Board of Trustees at Pond Meadow and at Pond Home.  He was a Past Treasurer of the Boston to Providence Genealogical Society, and a member of the former Wrentham Tennis Club.     

In addition to his wife he leaves loving children and their spouses, Anne and Richard Linscott, of Plainville, Robert Cole and Dawn McClain of Plainville, Barbara Brisson of North Attleboro, Thomas and June Cole of Santee, CA, Patricia Cole of Plainville, and James and Shu Cole of Bloominton, IN.      He was the dear grandfather of Karin (Wiklund) Toomey, Christine Linscott, Steven Linscott, Phillip Carnevale, Marilyn Carnevale Hannaford, Thomas Carnevale, Rebekah Simon,  Emily  Cole, Jennifer Cole, Angela (Cole) Green, Christopher Cole, Elizabeth Cole, and of the late Michael Wiklund. Also survived by six great-grandchildren,

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre, on Friday from 4-7 PM.  A Reception in his Honor will be on Saturday Oct. 27, 2012, from 1 – 3 PM at the Barn in the “Community at Pond Meadow”, 289 East Street, Wrentham.       Donations in his memory may be made to The Community at Pond Meadow, “Endowment Fund”, or to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Arrangements are in the Care of Richard Ross and the RJ Ross Funeral Home, Wrentham Centre.
