Obits: Remembering Carl Francis Moore

Wrentham resident Carl Francis Moore passed away on December 3 at the age of 80.

Carl Francis Moore, 80, of West Street, Wrentham, died early Monday morning surrounded by his loving family in his home. He was the beloved husband of Sharon M. (Penders) Moore, to whom he was married on February 6, 1954.

Born in Boston on October 19, 1932, he was the dear son of the late Jerome L. and Olivette F. (Griffin) Moore. He was a graduate of Boston Public Schools, and had attended the University of California and Purdue University.

Employed during his working years as a Journeyman Plumber, he had also been an instructor at the Boston Local 12 Plumbers Union.

An avid sportsman he was amongst those who founded the Wrentham Men’s Softball League. He had also enjoyed coaching Wrentham Little League for many years, and was a golfer who enjoyed good rounds at the Heather Hill Golf Course in Plainville. He was a daily Communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Wrentham, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He had served his nation with pride in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

In addition of his dear wife he leaves loving children, Michael P. Moore of Weare, NH, Sheila M. Waters of Wrentham, Timothy J. and his wife Linda Moore of Wrentham, Dennis F. and his wife Lisa Moore of Plainville, Patrick J. and his wife Trish Moore of Wrentham, Sharon K. “Sharie” and her husband James Cota of Wrentham, and Thomas W. and his wife Tara Moore of West Hartford, CT. He was the devoted grandfather of Erin, Amy, Michael, Stephen, Susan, Timothy, Sean, Kathleen, Shannon, Bryan, Kayleigh, Colton, Braedyn, Jack, and Fallon, and six great grandchildren. He was the loving brother of Jerome J. Moore of Springhill, Fl, and the late Joseph Moore, Arthur Moore, and Donna Dion.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre, on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. His Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday at 9 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 140 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre. Burial will follow in the Wrentham Centre Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church Building Fund, PO Box 238, Wrentham, MA 02093.
