The First Two Weeks

It is now two weeks into the fall soccer season, and the KP boys’ soccer team is 1-1-1. On Wednesday, September 4th, the team pulled a massive comeback against Bishop Feehan, scoring 2 goals in ten minutes to scrape out a tie, and get one point from the encounter. Goals were scored by Paul Kelley and Andrew Allen (2). KP headed into its Monday showdown with Oliver Ames confident and ready, and they showed it with a goal after only 7 minutes by Allen. However, OA rallied with 3 goals in a ten minute span early in the second half, and they pulled a victory from KP in their home opener at the Freeman-Kennedy school. On Wednesday the 11th, a very hot day, KP faced Milford on the Milford turf, and neither team was prepared for the heat. It was a sloppy game, punctuated by a goal from Justin Karageorge that trickled in halfway through the first half. The Warriors were able to withstand the constant Milford pressure, and squeaked out a tough 1-0 win. The team has three games this upcoming week; on Monday KP faces Sharon at home starting at 6 p.m. It will be under the lights, and fans are welcome to come and support the team. KP also has games Wednesday and Friday against Mansfield and Attleboro, respectively.
