Rhode Island Boy's Wish Comes True at Patriot Place

A Wish Come True, Inc. and Patriot Place team up to grant nine-year-old Rayquawn's wish for a shopping spree at Patriot Place and visit to The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon on Saturday, March 1.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Dreams are often only a wish away and for nine-year-old Rayquawn, the dream of spending a memorable day with his family at Patriot Place came true on Saturday, March 1, with the help of A Wish Come True, Inc. and Patriot Place.

“Rayquawn loves the New England Patriots and wanted to have fun with his family, visit The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon and shop for some great new things to take home,” said Amy Simonini, A Wish Come True operations manager.

Rayquawn was born with Sickle Cell Disease and regularly undergoes treatment to help manage the symptoms and lessen the pain associated with the disease. The Providence, R.I. boy told A Wish Come True it was his wish to go on a shopping spree at Patriot Place and that’s exactly what he did.

Arriving to Patriot Place in a limousine, a beaming Rayquawn and his family were greeted by a surprise guest, Pat Patriot. The Patriots official mascot joined the group for a personalized tour of The Hall, where Rayquawn enjoyed interactive exhibits like the field goal-kicking simulator, trying on an official Patriots helmet from inside the replica locker room and testing his vertical jump.

“This is so cool!” Rayquawn said as he made his way up the ladder of a Boston Duck Boat used in the team’s Super Bowl XXXVI championship parade. After a stop to see the Patriots’ three Super Bowl trophies and rings inside The Hall of Champions presented by Raytheon, it was time to shop.

Rayquawn began his shopping spree inside the Patriots ProShop, where he picked out a red Tom Brady jersey, a Patriots ball cap and Alex and Ani bangles for his younger sisters, Reniyah, five, and Renazia, three.

From the ProShop, Rayquawn headed to Olympia Sports for sneakers and clothes before heading to Red Robin for lunch. His shopping spree at Patriot Place concluded with a trip inside Old Navy.

“All of us at A Wish Come True are grateful for the caring and dedicated staff at Patriot Place who helped make Rayquawn’s wish come true,” said Simonini. “He loved every moment of his shopping spree wish and was for a moment able to put aside thoughts of his illness and focus on having fun with his family and getting some great new wish list items to enjoy.”
