Local Merchants Ready to Rock the Block
Messenger Square to Host First Annual Summer Block Party
Plainville, MA, August 12, 2013:
Local merchants, food vendors, crafters,
and entertainers are gearing up to participate in the first annual Messenger
Square Summer Block Party. The
rain-or-shine event is scheduled for Saturday, August 17, from 10 AM to 2 PM,
and will take place at Messenger Square Plaza.
Representatives from over 30 businesses will be on hand to
greet the public, showcase their services, and conduct live demonstrations. Highlights will include a dunk tank, musical
entertainment, dance performances, and several family-friendly activities.
Popular food vendors such as Papa Gino’s, The Ice Cream Machine,
and Edible Arrangements will provide refreshments, and Johnny’s Hometown Diner
will feature a pie-eating contest.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rhode Island Multiple Sclerosis
chapter and Lenore’s Pantry.
“We feel the Block Party is a great way to promote local
businesses and get the community involved in a little summertime fun,”
chairperson Janine MacArthur said.
“We’re very excited to meet many old and new friends. I’m especially looking forward to the dunk
tank.”
