A look at some interesting facts collected in Wrentham

The year has passed and 2012 is long gone, but Wrentham’s reported on the year is around and available.

The following are statistics from the 2012 Wrentham town report. The report covers the fixcal year, which goes from July, 2011 to June 30, 2012.

The Wrentham Police Department responded to 11,405 incidents during that time. There were 163 arrests, 84 restraining orders, 23 harassment orders and 224 criminal complaints issued. The department processed 251 firearm licenses.

A total of 1,791 motorists were issued civil citations for traffic violations and 378 parking tickets. $167,591 were brought in to the town budget from these tickets.

The Fire Department responded to 28 total structure fires, 84 outside fires, 184 hazardous conditions (smoke, burnt food etc.) and 22 vehicle fires. There was over $390,000 in property loss due to damages from fire or hazardous conditions.

The Emergency Medical Services responded to a total of 1,338 calls and transported 970 people to hospitals for medical issues.

The Wrentham Board of Health had 52 communicable diseases reported to them during that year.

Lyme was the most abundant with 26 cases reported. Included in the reported were cases of Hepatitis C and B, Streptococcus, Encephalitis, Salmonella and Calicivirus.
