Winslow Tops GOP Straw Poll Vote

State Rep. Daniel Winslow (R-Norfolk) was his party's choice for the U.S. Senate in a straw poll taken at a Republican event Saturday.

 

State Rep. Daniel Winslow of Norfolk was the choice in Saturday's GOP straw poll in Danvers.

The state Republican group gave Winslow, 79 votes, allowing him to defeat Cohasset businessman Gabriel Gomez, a former Navy Seal, 59, and former US Attorney General Michael Sullivan, 55

“It’s really just a chance to meet activists,” said Winslow in the Boston Herald. “I was really pleased to be able to connect with so many activists and that our message can resonate.”

The three candidates are in a sprint to get votes for the U.S. Senate primary April 30.
