New Furniture Store to Open on Route 1A

 now that Wrentham Artisan will not occupy the space. Over the weekend, it became a little more clear what would go in.

Recently, the sign telling those who drive by 513 South Street to find Wrentham Artisan on Facebook has been replaced with a new sign promoting a website named Creative Art Furniture.

In addtion, Wrentham Artisan announced on their Facebook page over the weekend that the a new furniture store run by Chris Parker and Steven Staples named the New England Artisan Gallery will open up on the property in November. The business will specialize in handcraft furniture.

The Wrentham Police Department recently released their police log for September 9 - 15. The log features a very busy day of arrests at the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets, a fugitive man who was arrested, and an assault and battery arrest.

New England Revolution 'Discuss' Moving Team to Revere

It’s no secret the New England Revolution have been looking to develop a soccer-specific stadium for several years now and move out of Foxborough's Gillette Stadium. 

On Monday, The Boston Globe reported one of the potential destinations for the Major League Soccer team could be Revere.

Mayor Dan Rizzo was quoted in the Oct. 1 Boston Globe article, “Mayor Hopes to Bring Revolution to Revere,” saying: “The city has to be right in the wheelhouse in terms of soccer fans. I’d love to see a full-blown professional soccer team here.”

King Philip Middle School Taking Proactive Steps to Prevent Hazing Sensation

As King Philip Middle School recently learned, just because there was an incident outside of school does not mean it has an effect inside of school.

After being informed by parents of an incident outside of school, KP Middle School Principal Susan Gilson wasted little time making sure the particular act in question had little chance being reenacted in the halls of the regional middle school.

The incident in question involved is called rhinoing. To rhino someone means to run up to someone from behind and drive your knee into their lower back. The performing of the act in the KP community is so recent that it was unknown by staff of KPMS. 

“We didn’t even know rhino-ing existed so we were actually happy that one of our parents sent us an email,” Gilson said. “What it did was it enabled us to kinda make it public within our building and create and awareness in terms of what it was.”

Foxborough Man At Wrentham District Court to Face Attempted Murder Charge Following Domestic Disturbance

A Foxborough man was arrested at his Morse Street home on September 30 and charged with attempted murder after allegedly placing his left hand around a woman's neck during a domestic disturbance and threatening to “slit her throat with a knife,” according to court documents.

James Gallagher, 58, of Morse Street in Foxborough was arraigned in Wrentham District Court Monday on the following charges: attempted murder, simple assault and battery, two counts assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and threat to commit a crime.

Gallagher was held without bail at Norfolk County Correctional Center following his arraignment and will appear again at Wrentham District Court Thursday morning for his detention hearing, according to court documents.

Oven Causes Fire on Hamilton Road

An accident involving an oven has caused an estimated $25,000 in damage at a Hamilton Road home.

After papers fell near an oven in the kitchen of 137 Hamilton Road, the self cleaning unit on the oven set the papers on fire and sent smoke and fire through the microwave, cabinets, up the walls of the house, and into the attic. The fire damaged the attic and destroyed the microwave, oven, and cabinets in the kitchen accord to Wrentham Fire Chief Jay McMorrow.

Crews from Plainville, Norfolk, and Franklin were called in to assist.

Girl who Donated Hair at Gillette Stadium Teased in Aftermath

After a trip to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough to participate in the Kid's Cancer Buzz-Off last spring to donate her hair, the last thing nine-year old Vernonique Pomerleau expected was to be bullied in the aftermath.

Last spring, Pomerleau shaved her hair along dozens of others including New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski to raise money for children with cancer and their families.

As she told CBS News however, the whispers and mockery started over the summer and continued into school when she started fourth grade.
