Public Safety Building to serve as shelter for seniors, those with young children.

Update 2: The Wrentham elementary schools and King Philip schools will be closed on Monday.

The Saturday night October snowstorm has caused widespread power outages throughout the town of Wrentham.

Police Chief James Anderson said Sunday afternoon that National Grid claims the outages will continue into the week. Full restoration, he said, is expected Thursday.

"The public safety building will be available to senior citizens and young children who need shelter," he said. "There's limited space available."

According to Anderson, Attleboro's LaSalette Shrine has opened as a regional shelter.

Anderson said residents with power issues should direct their inquiries to National Grid at 1-800-322-3223. He said those with emergencies requiring police, fire or ambulance services should call 911.

Anderson said the town sustained numerous downed wires and trees, and that National Grid is conducting an assessment of the situation.

Update: The Foxborough Charter School is closed tomorrow, and it looks likely that the Wrentham schools will be closed as well.
