Rep. Winslow Co-Sponsors Boston Strong License Plate Bill

A license plate is being created to honor the victims and those impact by the Boston Marathon Bombings.

Representative Dan Winslow (R-Norfolk) joined Representative Angelo Puppolo (D-Springfield) as a co-sponsor of Puppolo’s bill creating a “Boston Strong” license plate in honor of the victims and many others impacted by the tragedy of April 15.

This plate would be added to others already offered by Massachusetts, including the “United We Stand” plate which was created to benefit the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund.

The bill, entitled “An Act relative to a Massachusetts Boston Strong license plate,” would allow the purchase of a license plate with a logo and the words “Boston Strong” clearly marked. This fee will be waived for all parents, children, siblings, and spouses of family members who lost their lives or were severely injured during the marathon or the events related to it. All proceeds remaining after costs will be donated directly to The One Fund Boston.

“As we continue to stand together, as one city, as one state, I am humbled to have this opportunity to provide everyone in our state with another way to help support those affected by such senseless violence," said Winslow.  "The plates will forever serve as reminders that we will never forget and never waiver when people around us are in need."
