Obituaries: Mary Francis Bannon, Lee A. Silver Sr., Charles F. Morse

The following are obituaries from RJ Ross Funeral Home in Wrentham

Mary Francis Bannon

Mary Francis Bannon, 96, of Taunton Street, Wrentham, died on July 13, 2013 in the Norwood Hospital.  She was the beloved widow of Martin R. Bannon who had predeceased her in 1977.

Born in Boston on Oct. 22, 1916, she was a loving daughter of the late Felix and Frances (Lubinski) Ravinski.

Formerly of Norfolk, Mary has been a longtime Wrentham resident.  She was a Communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Wrentham.

She loved the out of doors, and appreciated the fresh air, the birds, flowers and the nature that surrounded her.  She enjoyed walking and was always seen out and about.

She is survived by her loving children, Mary and her husband Andre’ Laliberte of Wrentham, Patricia A. Connolly of North Attleboro, and Martin R. “Robert” Bannon of Campton, NH, and by dear sisters Helen Rokicki of Norfolk, and Sophie Swenson and Irene Kazuschyk both of Franklin, and was the devoted grandmother of eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  She was sister of the late Henry, Stanley, John, Edward, Albert, Robert, and Thomas Ravinski, and of the late Leocadia Schultz.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham, on Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. with her Funeral Mass to immediately follow in St. Mary’s Church, 140 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre, at 10 a.m.  Burial at a later date will be in the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society,  c/o St. Mary’s Church, PO Box 238, Wrentham, MA 02093.

Lee A. Silver Jr.

Lee. A. Silver Jr, 75, of Norfolk, died on July 10, 2013 at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston.  He was the beloved husband of Holly Cheryl (Driscoll) Silver, who he married on April 24, 1965.

     Born in Boston on September 28, 1937, he was a son of the late Lee A. Silver Sr and the late Esther Lucille (Wentzell) Silver.

     A Union Carpenter for most of his life, he was a member of the Carpenter’s Union #275 in Newton.

     Formerly of Brookline, he was a graduate of Brookline High School and of the Wentworth Institute in Boston.  He built his Norfolk home where he has lived for the past 40 Years.

An avid sportsman, he was a member of the Wrentham Sportsmen’s Club where he enjoyed target shooting, archery, fishing, and playing cards.

In addition to his loving wife he leaves a dear son, Lee A. III and his wife Amy Beth Silver, of Plainville, a brother, Charles and his wife Mary Silver of Lakeville, and a sister, Lucille Strange of Millwood, VA, two grandsons, William and James Silver, and numerous nieces and nephews.

No services are planned and arrangements are in the care of Richard Ross and the RJ Ross Funeral Home, Wrentham Centre.

Charles F. Morse

Charles F. Morse, 75, of Wrentham, died at Norwood Hospital on July 12, 2013.  He was the loving partner of twenty-three years of Christine Chepeleff.

Born in Boston on Feb. 22, 1938 he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Garvey) Morse.  He was raised in the St. Matthew's Parish in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. He served four years in the Army, and was a former Plainville resident prior to moving to Wrentham in 1997. Over the years, he was produce manager at First National, Flanagan’s, and Roche Brothers supermarkets.

A very competitive sportsman, he had played in league teams in basketball, softball and volleyball.  He had excelled in the sports in which he chose to play and had remained active throughout his life. An avid Boston sports enthusiast, he was rabid Celtics fan.

In addition to his loving partner, he is survived by children Charles M. Morse of Plainville, Steven P. Morse of Madison, AL, Paul R. Morse of Plainville, Jean Marie Bourque of Wrentham, Nancy Surgenor of Wrentham, and Sandy Morse of Plainville, and by seven sisters, Dorothy O’ Leary, Peggy McGillvray, Grace McGrath, Rose Roche, Barbara Morrison, Ruth Reale, and Patricia Hock, and eight grandchildren, Lyndsay and Zack Joyal, Jessica and Nathan Surgenor, Cameron and Brendan Morse, and Jeff and Nikki Bourque.

 Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre, on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.. His Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10:30 AM in St. Martha’s Church, 227 South Street, Route 1A, Plainville, MA
