Obituaries: Gerald E. Bourque

The following are local obituaries for Gerald E. Bourque  from R.J. Ross Funeral Home.

GERARD E. BOURQUE
Gerard E. Bourque, 74, of Medway St., Norfolk, died at home peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on July 4, 2013.  He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Callahan) Bourque.

Born in Winthrop, MA on July 7, 1938, he was a dear son of the late Gerard D. and Grace L. (Hemenway) Bourque.

A retired builder, he was the owner of G. E. Bourque and Sons Construction Company in Norfolk.

Always active with his children, he had been a Norfolk Little League Coach. He had also been a member of the Norfolk Men’s Bowling League, and Norfolk Golf League. 

A member of the Norfolk Federated Church, he and his family had at one time had been active with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Millis, and Epiphany Episcopal Church in Walpole.

Jerry had fun as a member of the Brother’s of the Brush during Norfolk’s Centennial Celebration in 1970.  He had also been a member of Norfolk’s Phantom Vigilante’s which had been active during that same time.

Jerry enjoyed his family immensely, and had enjoyed trips to Alaska and Florida.

In addition to his loving wife he leaves his dear children, Gerard E. Bourque Jr. of Wrentham, Richard A. Bourque of Bellingham, Suzanne M. Shea of Norfolk, and Janine L. Hartnett of Norfolk.  He is also survived by four brothers, Donald Bourque of Millis, Gordon Bourque, Francis Bourque, and Michael Bourque, all of Norfolk, and one sister, Mary G. Fregeau of Norfolk, ten grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Jerry’s Life on Saturday July 13, 2013 at 10 a.m., in the Norfolk Federated Church, One Union St., Norfolk.
