New Schedule Look for King Philip High Football Team

The MIAA is going with a different playoff look this year.

Two games with Franklin.
Four dates with no opponents listed.
This is definitely not your father's King Philip High football schedule.
The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association is trying out a new football playoff format this year and that means changes for the team.
The Warriors will play a home-away set with Franklin, hosting them Oct. 11 in a 7 p.m. game and then they will go up Route 140 to play the Panthers in a 10 a.m. the annual Thanksgiving Day game.
That should be interesting.
The other change is the playoffs will be starting Nov. 1 to allow for more rounds and for the first state Super Bowls to be held Dec. 7. Instead of having regional champions, they will be state ones.
If you don't play the playoffs, you will be playing opponents to be named later in the month of November.
King Philip will open up the season, Sept. 7 at Middleboro High.
Warriors' 2013 schedule:
Sept. 7-at Middleboro
Sept. 13-Westwood
Sept. 27-at Taunton
Oct. 4-North Attleboro
Oct. 11-Franklin
Oct. 18-Mansfield
Oct. 25-Attleboro
Nov. 1-22 Playoffs or games to be scheduled
Nov. 28-at Franklin
