Hockomock Area YMCA Members Collect a Record 847 Gifts

Hockomock Area YMCA Members Collect a Record 847 Gifts for other Y Members this Holiday Season.

Hockomock Area YMCA members and staff from surrounding communities collected a record-breaking total of 847 gifts for the Hockomock Y’s “Giving Tree” Program. The Y’s branches in Foxboro, Franklin, and North Attleboro had to empty entire offices to create Santa’s Workshop with the hundreds of gifts that were so generously donated for fellow YMCA families in need this holiday season.  Members who receive scholarship assistance from the Y had the opportunity to request a clothing item and an alternative item for their kids and family this holiday season for the Giving Tree.

With the generosity of members, staff and the community, the Giving Tree has exceeded expectations every year it has been done and this year was no exception. Over 125 local families for a total of 370 individuals benefited from the “Y Elves” who worked hard during December to fulfill every wish they received.
