Early Morning Mosquito Spraying to Start in Norfolk County May 29

The adulticide application is used to control nuisance and/or virus carrying adult mosquitoes.

Starting Tuesday, May 29, Norfolk County officials will begin to apply ULV (Ultra Low Volume) aerosol applications, weather permitting, to combat nuisance and virus-carrying adult mosquitoes.

The mosquito spraying will continue through Sept. 28, 2012 from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. (sunrise) and is applied at a rate of approximately one half ounce per acre of finished spray, according to a memo from the Norfolk County Mosquito Control Commission to local health boards.
