Update: 95 North and South Reopened Near Attleboro

A traffic jam has develpoed between Exits 4 and 5 on Route 95.

Update (5:27 p.m.) - Both 95 North and South near Exit 4 and 5 have been reopened after an accident brought traffic to a hault. While the roads are now open again, there is still heavy traffic on both ends. Mike Moura (@NEFireBuff) is reporting on Twitter that traffic is still backed up from Foxboro southbound and to Pawtucket northbound.

Update (4:57 p.m.) - MassDOT is reporting on their Twitter page that there is a two mile backup in each direction due to the accident. Drivers are advise to seek an alternate routes.

Original Story: A crash between Exits 4 and 5 of Route 95 in North Attleboro has caused a downed power line to shutdown both the northbound and southbound sides of the highway.

While the cause of the crash is under investigation, preliminary information from the State Police says that the crash was casued after a truck struck a pole, bringing down powerlines across the highway.

Currently, Massachusetts State Police Troopers, MassDOT, Attleboro and North Attleboro Police and Fire Departments are helping at the scene.

According to MapQuest, traffic is at a standstill as of 3:50 p.m. Any Wrentham residents attempting to make it home from Route 95 North by way of Route 495 at Exit 6 are advised to find an alternate route. On 95 South, traffic appears to be building up at Exit 6.
