5 Things You Should Know Today: August 18

Here's what's happening around town today, Thursday, August 18.

1. The  will hold a special  for children ages 3 ½ -K are today from 10:30am to 11:15am. Come join the fun as we share stories, songs, poems and parachute play. Registration is Rquired. Call 384-5440 x21 or stop in the Children’s Department and see Miss Liz.

2. Volunteers are needed for the Rice Complex Playground  on September 24 which will take place at the Rice Complex parking lot. If interested, please email: ricecomplexplayground@gmail.com to find out how you can help.  Even if you can't volunteer your time, you can still help out by saving all your cans and bottles for their upcoming drive.

3. The Wrentham  will hold a today from 1pm to 3pm. The cost of the program is $2.

4. There are only a few days remaining to enjoying swimming at Sweatt Beach. The beach and snack bar will be open today from 10am to 4pm. Day passes can be purchased for only $6 adult, $3 children. Sweatt Beach is located on Woolford Road, off Elysium Street and is staffed by lifeguards. For more information, call the Recreation Department at (508) 384-5427.
