5 Things You Need to Know: Wrentham Celebrates Law Day

Congressman Joe Kennedy will be joining the Delaney School today as they celebrate their bronze medal in the Healthier US School Challenge.

 

1. The Annual SADD Walk of Tears in loving memory of Maura Howard, a graduate of King Philip High School and Amy Callaghan of Franklin High School, both victims of drunk driving, will take place at King Philip Regional High School on Sunday, May 19. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with an 11 a.m. start in front of the main entrance. The SADD Chapter (Students Against Destructive Decisions) will fund scholarships at both King Philip and Franklin High Schools. The walk is approximately three miles and there will be refreshments and water available. The event will be held rain or shine. 

2. Wrentham Law Day will be held today at 9:30 a.m. at the First Session Courtroom, 60 East St. in Wrentham. Congressman Joe Kennedy will be in attendance.

3. The Delaney Elementary School will receive the bronze medal for the Healthier US School Challenge, Friday at 11 a.m. Kennedy will also be in attendance there.  

4. Wrentham Recyling will be holding a donation event May 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wrentham Senior Center Parking Lot on Taunton Street. To see what you can bring and what you can't bring, go to  http://www.bostonbuildingresources.com/

5. Sign-ups for the Wrentham swimming lessons and recreation summer playground camp signup will be held at the town hall, 79 South St., in the first floor lobby. The signups will be May 4 from 9:30-11 a.m., May 7, from 6-7 p.m. and May 11, 9:30-11 a.m. See the recreation department's website for more information.
