Eagle Cricket Club

It may sound unbelievable, but sport of cricket is being played in America since 1777. Cricket is one of the oldest American Sport. However the sport has not been in the limelight as it is in other countries. Lately it has picked up a bit. Now there are more than 1,000 cricket clubs across the country. There is also a governing body for the sport, USACA(United State of Americas Cricket Association). We in Massachusetts have a governing board which rolls up to USACA. This gives platform to talented Massachusetts players to play for their country in international arena. Cricket board in Massachusetts is Massachusetts State Cricket League often known as MSCL. 

Here in our own Wrentham a bunch of enthusiastic youngsters started playing cricket in the year 2001. At first, it was a weekend affair that would involve calling friends over to the ground for a short format game, but slowly the number of people coming on the weekends grew and so did the need to create the club. Thus, Eagle Cricket Club took birth in July of 2002. 

You might have spotted a couple of my team mates in sky blue jersey. If you are reading this blog you now know they play for Eagle Cricket Club. We have several accolades under our belt. We are a strong club and one big happy family. We have 3 teams. Our kid’s camp is also growing strong with more than 30 kids attending the sessions every weekend.
