Wrentham Home Sales Fall In April

Town sees decline in home sales for the month.

Home sales in Wrentham dropped in April from last April's totals, according to data released this week.

The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, saw the town's home sales drop from nine last year to three in April, a 66 percent decline. Year to date sales are also down, from 26 at this point last year to 17 this year.

The commonwealth saw a 28 percent decline over the same time period, falling from 3,996 last year to 2,865 last month. The month, though, did see the highest sales volume of 2011.

Warren Group CEO Timothy Warren said in a statement that last year's numbers were somewhat inflated.

"The year-over-year numbers are dismal because we're comparing to the homebuyer tax credit selling boom," he said. "We will likely see decreases until the summer."
