It's Safe to Eat in Wrentham

Wrentham food services score well from Board of Health as there were no serious violations reported since February.

The Wrentham Board of Health conducts many health inspections of local restaurants a month, and as far back as February, there have been no major infractions recorded.

“The food service facilities in Wrentham are pretty well-maintained sanitation wise,” Wrentham Board of Health Agent Dr. William Iannucci said.

Iannucci, who is in charge of food, housing and inspections, said Wrentham has very few serious violations, if any.

He said this year was difficult for some businesses because of multiple power outages.

“You really have to be concerned about the perishable products,” he said. “You can be overwhelmed by how many places there are in the town. You have to check how they dispose of [affected materials] and how they may have kept them.”

Iannucci said many businesses dealing in food have learned their lesson and have taken precautions.

“A lot of places have gone towards generators,” he said.

Minor violations during inspections included the Roderick and Delaney School, where their hand sanitation apparatuses weren't inverted.

Town Pizza had excess ice condensation on their freezers, which Ianucci said is an indication that the unit would have to work hard to maintain the same temperature.

The mobile truck at the White Barn Farm, Jordan Seafood, was asked by health inspectors to have identification tags on the product to show where they came from. Ming’s had a violation in which the handles for their frybaskets needed better sanitation.

Pond Home, That’s My Dog, the Outlets’ Food Court, the Interstate Travel Plaza, Café Assisi and the Tavern at Wrentham had no violations whatsoever.
