"It is absolutely amazing to see all you guys here this morning," Ford said. "It is going to be one heck of a store and I can’t wait for you guys to come in and be able to see what we’ve been working so hard on. ... I know a lot of you have been knocking on the door the past couple of weeks and you’re actually going to be able to come in today."

Jonathan Kraft, president of The Kraft Group, welcomed Forda and Trader Joe's to the Patriots family with a team jersey sporting the number one and "Trader Joe's" on the back.

"That [jersey is] for a kicker and you look about that size so it’s perfect," Kraft said, jokingly. "Welcome."

Kraft called Friday a "great day" for The Kraft Group, Patriot Place and Trader Joe's because they collectively were able to bring a business to town that people throughout the area were calling for.

"After we opened Patriot Place we started doing market research and we purposely left some spots [vacant] to figure out what people wanted," Kraft said. "We did market research and the number one thing people asked for by name as a retailer was Trader Joe’s and it wasn’t even close."

And here it is.

Trader Joe's will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Opening day festivities will continue throughout the day Friday.
