Friendly's Files for Bankruptcy, Wrentham Location Not Among Closings
The Friendly's restaurant chain is seeking bankruptcy protection, and is set to close 63 restaurants.
The Friendly's Ice Cream Corp. announced today that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and will be closing 63 restaurants, 30 in Massachusetts.
The is not one of those scheduled to close. Several locations nearby will close, though, including the , and Attleboro restaurants.
The chain will close seven restaurants in Connecticut, six restaurants in Florida, six in New York, four in Virginia, three in Maine, two in Pennsylvania, two in Rhode Island, one in New Hampshire, one in New Jersey and one in Vermont.

According to a Friendly's press release, the remaining 424 restuarants will continue operation.
