"Chocolate Walk" To Take Place In Wrentham Downtown This Weekend

The Downtown Merchants Association is hosting the event.

The  Downtown Merchants Association of Wrentham will be holding a "Chocolate Walk" this Saturday in celebration of Valentine's Day.

The event, which takes place from 11am to 2pm, invites local residents to visit businesses in the heart of downtown. Those businesses with balloons by their doors will be giving treats to people who drop by.

Maria Meomartino Leonard, a spokeswoman for the association, said the event has been around for about three years.

"We do an Easter Bunny Stroll and Halloween Prowl with the same type of actions," she wrote in an email. " Each participating member puts balloons outside their doors.  They can give out candy or something pertaining to their business such as a coupon."

According to Leonard, the turnout from year to year can vary.

"The turnout for each of these events is very much determined by the weather," she wrote. "It is a good way to promote downtown shopping, and introduce many Wrentham residents to the downtown businesses."
