In anticipation of Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, here are five fun-loving activities to celebrate with your children this weekend.

In anticipation of Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, here are five fun-loving activities to celebrate with your children this weekend.

  • Start your weekend with a night of discovery at Stony Brook sanctuary in Norfolk on Friday, Feb. 11 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Education Coordinator Marla Cohen will lead children in science, space and weather exploration with indoor and outdoor activities. Suitable for children ages 6 to 8. Registration is required. $10 per child.
  • The Children’s Museum in Easton is hosting a Valentine’s Day-themed craft as well as some V-day treats on Friday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. It’s free with admission, so spend the day exploring their awesome exhibits including Dinosaur Den and Prehistoric Pathway. Admission is $6 per person. On Sunday, Feb. 13, during regular business hours, visitors are invited to make Valentine's Day cards in their art studio.
  • Chocolate and Valentine’s Day go hand and hand. Head to downtown Wrentham for the Valentine's Day Chocolate walk on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit any of the participating downtown businesses with pink and red balloons for a Valentine’s Day treat. The event is being sponsored by the Downtown Merchants Association of Wrentham.
  • Join Miss Christine for a special Valentine’s Day storytime at Barnes & Noble booksellers in Bellingham on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. Enjoy favorite Valentine's Day stories, refreshments and crafts.
  • In time to celebrate love and art, two major movies will hit theatres on Friday, Feb. 11. The greatest love story ever told, starring…garden gnomes? In the upcoming “Gnomeo & Juliet,” Shakespeare’s revered tale gets a comical, off-the-wall makeover. And most preteen girls would welcome a ticket to see “Never Say Never” a 3D biopic about the life of Justin Bieber. A matinee at Bellingham’s Regal Cinema runs about $10.50 per ticket.
