Wrentham Resident on Hand for Garden and Statue Dedication for Veterans Day

On Saturday, November 10, 2012, Fisher House Boston dedicated the Healing Garden and unveiled a sculpture created by Wounded Iraq War Veteran Staff Sgt. William R. Kleinedler.

The sculpture, named “Integro,” is made of steel and copper and stands 12 feet high. It was built with the help of 16 students from Worcester Technical High School where the sculpture was constructed. Integro, which means “to begin anew,” is located in the Fisher House Healing Garden alongside natural elements that were selected with healing in mind. The garden was designed and built by the Garden Continuum of Medfield, Mass.

The Healing Garden and sculpture were dedicated to all branches the U.S. Military and the men and women who have served. The Healing Garden and sculpture are on display to be enjoyed by the families who stay at The Fisher House Boston while their loved one is being cared for at one of the veterans’ medical facilities.

In attendance were three Congressional Medal of Honor recipients: Colonel Harvey “Barney” Barnum JR., USMC Ret., Colonel Wesley Fox, USMC Ret. and Sgt. Robert O’Malley, USMC Ret.

Also in attendance were Lt. Governor Timothy P. Murray; City Manager for the City of Worcester, Michael O’Brien; SSG William Kleinedler of New Braintree, Mass., President of the Fisher House Board of Directors, Michelle Keating of Wrentham; Executive Director of Fisher House Boston Jennifer DeLuca, of Norfolk, Mass. and members of the Fisher House Board of Directors, Thomas Lyons and Rick Haddad of Natick, Mass.
