Wrentham Holding Waste Collection and Charity Donation Event at DPW

Dispose of your hazardous waste properly and donate your extra clothes and other items for the needy.

Wrentham is holding its annual Household Hazardous Waste Day and donation this May.

On Saturday, May 11, the Wrentham Department of Public Works Yard will be accepting hazardous waste to properly dispose of.

They will also be accepting used clothing for the Salvation Army and building resources for the Boston Building Resources organization.

They are also collecting bicycles for the Bikes Not Bombs organization, used crayons and pet food for the Animal Shelter.

They will be accepting for the Salvation Army used women's, men's, and children's clothing, including shoes and accessories, gently used household items such as towels, sheets, curtains, throw rugs, all kinds of items you would find in the kitchen and bathrooms, plus nick-knacks, pictures, books, toys, games, baskets, sporting goods, tools, etc Small appliances and electronics that are in good working order.

Note, they do not have facilities to repair broken or non-working items. Flat screen TV and computer monitors large appliances that are clean, in good working order and less than 10 years old and all gently used furniture without unsightly stains, rips or odors.

Acceptable hazardous waste, which is limited to residential waste, include pesticides, poisons, herbicides, and fertilizers oil based paints, stains, and varnishes paint thinners and strippers, turpentine and cleaning solvents kerosene, and other waste fuels photographic chemicals, chemistry sets, and hobby/art supplies glues, adhesives, rubber cement, and resins rechargeable batteries,-cnaid and button batteries asbestos (double bagged and wetted) swimming pool chemicals oven, toilet bowl and drain cleaners products containing mercury, antifreeze, brake fluid, and transmission fluid auto batteries used motor oil propane tanks with collection fee and auto and truck tires with collection fee.
