Where Do Local Schools Rank in Boston Magazine Survey?

There will be more clouds than sun today, according to WHDH-TV. There is also a small chance of a late day shower with a high of 79 and a low of 63.

Boston Magazine is out with its latest ratings of the state school system. Norfolk is rated 52, Wrentham 58 and Plainville 70. Dover is the No. 1 ranked, while Sherborn is second, Lexington, third, Carlisle, fourth, and Boxborough, fifth. Sharon is the top local school at 14 and the only Hockomock League town ahead of Norfolk and Wrentham. Schools are ranked on enrollment, average class size, graduation size, percentage attending college, per pupil expenditures, percentage scoring on 3-5 on AP exams, SAT Reading, SAT Math, Student-Teacher ratio, grade 10 ELA, grade 10 Math, Grade 10 Science, Grade 8, ELA, Grade 5 ELA, Grade 5 Math, Grade 5 Science, Grade 3 ELA, and Grade 3 Math.

State Representatives Jay Barrows (R-Mansfield), Betty Poirier (R-North Attleboro), Steven Howitt (R-Seekonk), and Daniel Winslow (R-Norfolk), along with State Senator Richard Ross (R-Wrentham), will host the 2013 GOP Technology Tax Business Roundtable, Aug. 28, 2013, at Mansfield Town Hall at 1 p.m. Doors will open at 12:45 p.m.

Registration is now open for the 2013 flag football season. This program is open to boys and girls, Grades 1–8. It is open to all Wrentham residents and to non-Wrentham residents as space allows. All registrations and payments must be submitted online. Cost is $90 per player.
